Before Intravenous Anesthesia Sedation

IV sedation is an excellent method to help patients navigate their surgical experience with the least possible amount of discomfort and anxiety. Sedation is administered only in concurrence with surgical procedures, following evaluation and approval by the surgeon to ensure the patient is a suitable candidate for IV sedation. If approved, the patient MUST refrain from consuming any food or water for 8 hours prior to the procedure to ensure safety. This will be discussed in detail during the consultation visit and reinforced with visit reminders.

Our clinic is state-of-the-art, equipped with the latest advancements in patient monitoring and emergency preparation. Our surgeon is licensed in the administration of anesthesia and has more than 12 years of experience. This, coupled with our patient-centric clinic design and highly trained staff, ensures comfort, safety, and privacy for our patients, providing them with an unparalleled surgical and anesthesia experience.

Here is a list of important instructions prior to the anesthesia/surgery experience:

  • DO NOT eat or drink anything for 8 hours before the procedure.
  • An accompany of responsible adult is required, someone who can drive.
  • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes to allow easy access for arms and prevent any restriction around the neck.
  • Avoid wearing jewelry, piercings, and nail polish, as these may interfere with our surgical and monitoring devices.
  • After the anesthesia/surgery, you will not be able to drive or operate machinery for at least 24 hours. More details will be provided based on your unique situation.
  • If you feel sick, have a cough, or develop any kind of illness, please notify us before the procedure.
  • If you smoke anything, including Marijuana, please inform us beforehand.
  • Ensure to disclose any medications or supplements you are taking before the procedure or if there are any changes in your medications since the time of evaluation.

I was extremely nervous with getting my wisdom teeth removed. Dr. Taleb made me as comfortable as possible and listened very well. Dr. Taleb also remained calm which helped me stay calm and explained everything as it was happening. Dr. Taleb was fantastic and I'd highly recommend.

Dr. Taleb removed all four of my wisdom teeth yesterday and I have barely had any pain or swelling after the procedure. He and his staff were very reassuring and comforting to me, especially since this was my first time ever going under anesthesia.

  • A wonderful person!

  • Dr. Taleb

Dr. Taleb is a doctor that sincerely cares. My daughter was going to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed, but based on her medical history, he would not perform the procedure in the office under anesthesia. He explained EVERYTHING in terms we could understand. He made my crying daughter laugh. He listened and responded to each and every concern we had. After the procedure was performed in the hospital, Dr. Taleb visited me in my daughter's room. My daughter was a champ! The surgery went well. She did not have any complications during the surgery or during the postoperative period. I am so glad we followed his recommendations.
